Most of my high school buddies are at least 50 pounds overweight. Many have had either a hip or knee replacement, one has had both and one has had heart bypass surgery, and another who had heart surgery is no longer with us.
Personally, I feel lonely as the only one not on any prescription drugs. That apparently is unheard of, the taking of No
Medications at Age 81 . . . who ever heard of such a thing. Being normal weight and getting around as well or better then ever.
Normal eye sight and hearing. I just feel left out, I don't fit.
All of these buddies taking all these pills, regular surgery etc. all think their way, as they are experiencing it, that this is the way getting old "is'.
Almost all have high blood pressure, prostate problems and most taking statin etc. etc and discussing when they are going in for the next "knee"
surgery etc.
Some have a list of ailments as long as your arm, and their pill suit case looks like a mobile drug store. The chief subject of conversation is current ailments, and their
"wonderful" doctors.
Many not able to show up any more, are now in "extended care" facilities, etc no longer able to meet up, many are long gone, these here, were just the exceptional barely still getting around high school buddies.
Probably the last time will see most of them at this rate. Kind of sad.... all unnecessary.... way to go....
